Initial Setup – Flashing the SD Card with the Image
We assume here that no pre-flashed SD card with the TeslaLogger image is available, but that the image is available as a download and an (empty) SD card is present. If a pre-flashed SD card is already available, this chapter can be skipped.
Initial Setup
After the SD card has been flashed (or the pre-flashed card has been delivered), it is inserted into the Raspberry. The metal contacts of the card should face upwards (towards the board) first into the SD slot. Then the network cable must be plugged in and the device connected to power.
TeslaLogger Initial Setup (Without Existing Backup of Another Installation)
This chapter describes the initial setup. Users who want to use an existing backup of an old installation can skip this chapter.

Tesla Fleet API
Tesla has officially shut down the "owner-api" TeslaLogger used to get data from. It is still possible to get data from the old owner-api with some dirty tricks, but some cars are now returning an error if you want to send commands to the car (e.g. turn on sentry mode).
